Parco del Mare: From September 2023 new works on the seafron

Rivazzurra, Marebello and Bellariva: Work will start in 2023.

With the approval of the executive project in the last council session, the redevelopment works will finally begin in our neighborhood as well.

Autumn 2023 will involve the urban transformation of a new portion of the Rimini waterfront, in the Bellariva area. Subsequently, in autumn 2024, it will continue between Marebello and Rivazzurra, returning to the city and tourists a naturalized, sustainable seafront and a high degree of urban comfort.

Wooden walkways, sports and games areas and two new sea viewpoints

The public work will see the use of materials, architectural and functional solutions of the already redeveloped sections. Space therefore for the wooden promenade close to the beach, new accesses to the sea, green areas and new vegetation, separate cycle and pedestrian paths. The project will also continue to contribute to the fight against marine ingression by raising the level of the waterfront where necessary.

The central area will be dedicated to functions, with the inclusion in the 'sardine', now a distinctive element of the design of the Sea Park, of areas dedicated to physical activity and well-being, inclusive play areas, ornamental fountains. The inclusion of 'green' pergolas is also envisaged, shading structures created through the vegetation close to the beach.

  • Autumn 2023 -> 1st Step of the works to be completed by the summer of 2024
  • Autumn 2024 -> 2nd Step of the works and will affect the section from via Siracusa to the gardens of Rivazzurra
  • Autumn 2025 -> 3rd Step of the works, i.e. when Hera will complete the construction of the lamination tank at the height of the Rivazzurra gardens, which will start with the first preparatory interventions for the construction site next autumn.

There, following the example of what was done in Piazzale Kennedy, a new square and one of the two new viewpoints that will characterize the new seafront will be created. Areas near Marebello have also been identified which could be used for sporting and recreational purposes (sports fields, playgrounds, water games) also through public-private partnership procedures.
